#1 Set goals:
Make sure to write down all of your goals, and aim to make them realistic! You can even get yourself a planner to help you set new goals every week or to hold you accountable with the ones you’ve already set. Checking your planner every day is another great way to stay on track.
For example: If you want to start meal prepping your lunches, make that a goal! Think about how many days you can commit to going to the gym every week based on your everyday life. Once you have figured that out, set it as one of your goals! You can even set goals at the gym such as: running a certain amount of miles, climbing a certain amount of stairs, or squatting a certain amount of weight!
We at Bowmar Nutrition believe in setting as many goals as you want, but before jumping into the big ones, we recommend starting with small, attainable, steps.
#2 Start Small:
If you are new to fitness Bowmar Nutrition recommends you start small. One easy way to do this is to practice at home before going to a gym. Begin with practicing the basic forms, then start adding weight until you get to the point where you can keep working up to heavier weights. When doing cardio, it is best to start with a small, specific, goal. For example: you can do 10 mins on a speed that works best for you and then next time add a couple minutes or increase the speed/resistance. You can figure out what works best for you over time. Remember, this all takes time!
#3 Get comfortable:
Even if you think everyone at the gym is watching your every move, we at Bowmar Nutrition would like to remind you that in reality, no one cares!. The gym can be very intimidating but just remember that everyone has to start somewhere. Use this as motivation! Once you are comfortable in the gym, it will be so much easier to get through your workouts and try new things.
#4: REMINDER: It’s okay to mess up:
We all make mistakes sometimes and starting a fitness journey can be very challenging. Don’t beat yourself up about it. Just acknowledge it, learn from it and move on.
#5: You can always find the time:
Remember you do not need to be at the gym for 2-3 hours. The most you should commit to is30 mins to an hour. You can get all you need done in that time. Even if it takes waking up a little earlier, make it a priority to find that period of time in your day., As we say here at Bowmar Nutrition, you will never regret going but you may regret not going.
If you become stuck you can even try a fitness program or meal program. There are so many great ones out there. You can even sign up for some of the programs offered on theBowmar Fitness page and make sure to check out all the products we offer here at Bowmar Nutrition to make healthy eating easier and more fun.
