Greens or Reds + Purples? Which one should you take?
If you’re asking yourself this question, you’re in the right place! We are here to help educate y’all on the difference between the two and if one or both is right for you.
What’s the Difference Between Reds + Purples and Greens?
First we need to give you a brief overview of what each product is and what their benefits are:
Greens are powdered vegetable and fruit sources packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to support your overall health and wellness. In particular, Greens put more emphasis on improving gut and digestive health, decreasing bloating, as well as enhancing immune function. On the other hand, Reds + Purples are powdered organic fruit sources that contain vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that also improve overall health and wellness. However, they provide a different micronutrient profile than Greens and contain added digestive enzymes. They specifically focus on inhibiting free radical production, improving cellular health (cell’s daily functions required to maintain life), enhancing blood flow, and aiding in digestive health. All in all, the new Reds + Purples are similar to our Greens in that they provide the body with vital nutrients; however, they contain organic ingredients that provide different benefits you simply can’t get from Greens!
Can You Take Them Both?
The answer is YES. Fruits and vegetables of different colors contain different amounts and forms of essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytonutrients that the body needs. It’s important that you have a variety of colors of fruit and vegetable sources in your diet.
We highly suggest pairing our Reds + Purples with our Greens, especially if you struggle to consume enough fruits and vegetables rich in red, purple, and/or green pigments. We always preach “whole foods first,” but we understand in today’s world that can be difficult to accomplish. Supplementing ensures you’re filling any nutritional gaps.
You will notice some nutrient overlaps between the two products. This means that there may be some nutrients in Greens that are also found in Reds + Purples, but our bodies are incredible machines. If we don’t need any more of a certain nutrient, our bodies will expel the excess through our urine.
How and When Should You Take Them?
You can enjoy them together or on their own! Reds + Purples have a pleasant, natural sweetness and taste to them that masks the flavor of the Greens (even though they do taste great as a standalone product as well).
If you plan to take them separately, we’d suggest taking Reds + Purples 10-20 minutes before a meal. The reason being is that the added digestive enzymes are what help break down the foods you eat. If those aren’t “ready to go” prior to consuming food, they won’t work as effectively. Greens, on the other hand, can either be taken 10-20 minutes prior to a meal or enjoyed any time of the day!
One other thing to note, Reds + Purples do provide natural energy; therefore, we do not suggest taking them close to bedtime, especially if you find yourself not being able to fall asleep easily (in which case, we also have a sleep product for that)!
All in All:
Greens complement Reds + Purples and together these two products work synergistically with one another to provide your body with a variety of nutrients and keep you functioning optimally.
